The Internet is a wonderful means of expression, and we shouldn't allow it to be restricted. We need to protect freedom of speech and privacy, both from oppressive governments and ethically challenged companies.

Firstly, there is the problem of oppressive governments monitoring and censoring the internet. This is a clear cut issue of human rights. Added to this is the fact that anyone who goes against these restrictions is dealt with most severely.
We hope that we can we can work with the Amnesty Group on this issue, especially thinik the international amnesty organisation is one of the main campaigners in this place.
We will encourage people, particularly group members to sign their pledge, at Irrepressible.Org.

However, a more recent problem is that, in our own country, an advertising company spying on all of the web pages many people visit. This company is called Phorm and has partnered with BT, Virgin and Talk Talk. Find out more at BadPhorm.
We will let people know about the problem, how they can find out if they are affect and what the solutions are. We hope to work with anti-phorm groups to help eradicate this technology, and encourage people to sign this petition.
